Otalgia is a very common symptom in ENT. It is defined as pain in the ear

  • ASOM
  • Eustachian tube dysfunction
  • OME
  • Middle ear malignancy
  • Complications of CSOM. CSOM is usually not associated with pain. Otalgia is suggestive of a complication of chronic otitis media. Only two complications are known to cause pain, namely acute mastoiditis and Dural involvement.
